We have a male Black-chinned Hummingbird who has appointed himself guardian of the feeders. He perches on a nearby branch, waiting to drive off anyone but his own sweetheart. Sometimes he hovers out of sight and zooms in just as the interlopers take their first sip. It's fun to watch his persistence, but I wish he realized there is always enough for everyone.
