SOLD Saguaro I ~ 48"x16"

SOLD Standing tall under the baking sun of the southwest deserts, these ancient sentinels raise their arms in friendly welcome. I always find them both awesome and humorous. Each individual has its own structure with various configurations of arms and other protuberances, and they seem to be communicating with others in their strange cactus sign-language. Or maybe it's just my imagination!

I had fun creating this Saguaro with layers of oil paint and mediums scraped onto the canvas with various tools. The result is a realistic subject but with bright colors and abstract effects. I hope its friendly welcome will light up your home!
