Cardinals are unmistakable with their vibrant red feathers. This one swings on a perch against the sky with a dry landscape hinted at below. I've turned his branch into an abstract blue curve, with a green swoosh behind him. These elements bring a modern twist to the painting and reference the water and foliage that all life on earth relies upon.
