Far away in the cold northern realms, a polar bear sniffs the icy wind. Flurries of snow lift from the drifts as a grey sky threatens more storms ahead.
I traveled to an island off the north coast of Alaska to see polar bears in their natural habitat. It was unbearably cold but strangely beautiful near the top of the world, and to be so close to polar bears was an amazing experience that I will never forget.
