SOLD Leaving behind family, friends and home, a young mother dreams of the new life she and her husband will make for their children in California.Perhaps it's gold fever or the promise of land and fresh opportunities that make the arduous wagon trip worth taking. 

I loved the challenge of capturing the faraway look in the woman's eyes and the direct gaze of her small daughter, both shaded from the sun by their bonnets.
