THE ANGELS

The Angel series has become my passion project. These beautiful beings are huge in scale so that they exude a positive presence, like guardian angels watching over those few who are lucky enough to own one. Each painting takes me several months of solid work, so there will only ever be two or three new Angels per year. This makes them among the rarest of objects in all the world. Each one is totally unique, inspired by whatever forces are affecting me when they are conceived. Most incorporate the Rennaissance technique of pastiglia, a raised pattern that is painstakingly applied and carefully hand painted in gold so that the design always shines. Each Angel has a story to tell, a deeper meaning. When you stand before them, they have a compelling energy that draws you in, so that you stare into their eyes and feel a connection with them that goes beyond the paint to something deeper within us all.
