As I waited for wild ducklings to hatch in our nest box by the river, my mind turned to nest designs and the perfection of their woven circular form.
A swirl of glossy lines and dots form this nest, with a matte background of robin's egg blue and green beneath. A hint of pink warms the outer edge, and tiny spots of gold enliven the surface.
Acrylic and oil on 1 5/8" cradled birch panel. Outer background and sides are white.
