The energy of the ocean swirls and flows continuously as the tides turn back and forth. The division between light and darkness sweeps around our planet each day as we turn on our axis and rotate around the sun. Everything has a flow, a place in the balance, moved by energies invisible but of immense power.
I tried to express some of those powerful energies in this layered painting. Creating a bold composition from a distance, the many tiny, tantalizing details become clear as you approach across the room. This is a painting for a large modern space, where it delights from afar and offers intimate visual rewards up close.
