I met this magnificent bighorn sheep ram high up in the sagebrush in Yellowstone National Park some years ago. His horns make almost a full curl, signifying a long and healthy life. The ends are broken and blunted from sparring with rivals each season. He was keeping an eye on me while his family moved down the other side of the ridge to safety. He's an impressive animal in the prime of his life, and worthy of a huge portrait at a much larger scale than life size.
