SOLD Walking through the dry grass as the sun sets, this beautiful Blackfoot woman lives up to her golden name of Sunflower. Her traditional dress is made of smoked deer hides, decorated with large glass "pony" trade beads. Long lengths of otter fur adorn her braids.
I made this dress and belt myself, and this is the first time I've painted them. The dress is very heavy but feels beautiful to wear. The golden leather is soft and supple, but also thick and warm. I spent many hours sewing each bead on with sinew in the traditional way.
