SOLD For the first time in eleven years, a pair of Trumpeter Swans visited our stretch of river. They were surprisingly tolerant of our presence and actually walked over to inspect our vegetable garden construction one morning. Seemingly satisfied with our progress, they ate some grass then settled down for a nap just 15 feet from where we were working! I was able to watch them several times in the following weeks as they fed along the river and had territorial disputes with the Canada Geese. This elegant wing stretching pose may be the first of several paintings of them.
