As though viewed from above, discs of coconut shell meander across a golden beach like umbrellas, while metallic glass cube beads float like tiny people in a clean white ocean.
Beads are part of my life, from beading wedding gowns as a fashion designer to beading replica Native American clothing as a Western artist. Now beads are finding their way into my paintings.
These beads are sewn to a square of painted Belgian linen which is glued to a painted birch panel and held with brass tacks at the corners.
Oil paint, coconut shell, glass beads, fishing line, Belgian linen & brass tacks on 1 5/8" cradled birch panel. Gold and white paint continues around sides of panel.
