She lives between the mountains and the plains, her gaze steady and unhurried — the look of someone who has made peace with the elements long ago. Sun-warmed and freckled, her blonde hair drifting in a Wyoming breeze, she is a daughter of this land.
The white hat, worn chambray shirt and floral bandana are the quiet armor of a woman who works where the wind doesn't ask permission and the dust follows everywhere. Yet there is nothing hardened in her expression. Her blue eyes hold something softer — a calm confidence, an easy resilience that comes not from fighting her environment, but from belonging to it.
This painting is a tribute to the women of the high plains that I now call home.
Painted in oils on Belgian linen mounted on panel.
Champagne silver hand-carved frame.
Painting size: 26" x 20"
Framed size: 32"x26"
To be sold by luck of the draw at Night of Artists at the Briscoe Western Museum, San Antonio, Texas on March 28, 2026.
