A stately Native American woman turns gracefully in her dance, otter-fur braid wraps swaying with her motion. This painting is a turning point for me in how I approach my traditional Western subjects in a modern way. I left out most of her dress to focus on the strong graphic design of her braids and feathers, radiating out from her beautiful face against a pure white background. This beautiful dancer also blends the traditional dance of her people with her modern life.
Painted in oils on Belgian linen mounted on Gatorboard panel.
Custom hand-crafted frame with champagne silver leaf.
